As many people have asked us about our cattery name: Marcus likes to read english fantasy literature (Tolkien, Eddings, Jordan, a.o.). In one of these fantasy worlds there is a town called Caldara which lies in a forest and has mountains near. We liked the name and thought that it fitted to Norwegian Forest Cats and were quite happy when we had the confirmation of our cattery name in our hands, at last.
And now to ourselves: We (Birgit, Claire and Marcus Buda) live in a town called Rellingen, which is directly situated at the border of Hamburg. We moved there from our small flat in Hamburg when Claire was planned and we wouldnīt have done it, because we both like Hamburg very much, but the rents made it necessary.
Marcus was born in Hamburg and still feels as if living there. Birgit went to Hamburg some years ago, when she got an offer to work here and liked the town from the beginning.
As our daughter was born in the beginning of 2004 and she gets a lot of our time, together with the time we want to spend with the cats, there isnīt much left for cat shows, but sometimes Marcus helps as a steward and that way stays in contact with the cat fancy.
