Benedikt is unfortunately gone ... much too early ... our little bear.
He was such a good natured cat, there's hardly a day on which we donīt think
about him and miss him.
It is said that people with too much weight tend to be relaxed. If you would search for an
example in the cats world, Benedikt would be the right choice: He was relaxing the whole
day.
Much to his disagreement he was on a diet since a surgery at the age of 2
and when a small portion of food met his big stomach twice a day, he gave us his most
pityful expression and if that didnīt work ... there were always other ways in which to
protest.
Actually he was intended to produce some kittens, but the first and last lady cat
that he could have put his paws onto, didnīt know how to do it, as well and
showed him her idea about his attempts. Because he was such a sweet tomcat and
didnīt have any persuasion skills, nothing happened at that time.
Such a pity, because a tomcat doing his markings in the toilet isnīt born so often.
With an operation some time later where some stone in his urinary tract had to be taken
out, he had to be neutered, as well and thatīs why to Birgit's sorrow there doesnīt exist
any offspring from him.
That operation also ended his show career, but Iīm very sure that our "little bear"
(sometimes also "thickhead") didnīt grief about that.
He enjoyed his life with us and of course we would have done everything, if we
could have had him with us for a longer time, but in the end we have to content
ourselves with the memories of our dear teddy bear.
He will stay irreplaceable !
